Robert Charles Wisden[1] (born in Brighton, Sussex, England) is a British actor who has an extensive career in Canadian and American television.[2] In 2000 he won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for The Sheldon Kennedy Story (1999).[3] He portrayed Major/Lieutenant Colonel Samuels in the Stargate SG-1 TV series.
Career[edit | edit source]
Wisden moved with his family from England to Canada when he was 15. He started his career in 1985 starring as Terry Dunne in Atom Egoyan's In This Corner. He has since acted in many shows, including Da Vinci's Inquest, Smallville, The X-Files and Jeremiah. In 2006 Wisden graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Education degree.[2] He currently is employed at St.George's School for boys in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada directing middle school shows and as a Drama teacher.
Stargate[edit | edit source]
Wisden has played in 1997 the character of Major Samuels in the Stargate SG-1 pilot, "Children of the Gods". He has reprised his role in two more episodes in 1998 ("Politics" and "The Serpent's Lair"). In 2005, he played an alternate Samuels in "Moebius", Part 1.
