The Sea of Ogada is a region located far away from the village of the Shavadai, on planet Simarka.
Overview[edit | edit source]
This area seems to be located very far away from the different tribes who are living around the Stargate location, because, according to Abu, son of the chieftain Moughal of the Shavadai, nobody have seen someone coming from the Sea of Ogada (SG1: "Emancipation").
Evolution[edit | edit source]
"Emancipation" (1997)[edit | edit source]
Abu, a young Shavadai, is saved from the dogs' stomac by SG-1. Thankfull, he asks where they came from. Jack O'Neill tells him they are travellers from, far, far away. Abu asks them if they're from the Sea of Ogada. In order to not perturbate him, O'Neill doesn't deny. Abu tells them that he had never seen someone from the Sea of Ogada and that they will be double welcomed by his father.
When his father, Moughal, encounters SG-1 with other men, they are threatened by banded bows. Abu rushes to his father to tell him that they are from the Sea of Ogada and they don't know their customs (women must be outfitted with female outfits, and must not wear men outfits).
When Captain Samantha Carter is abucted by Abu in order to trade her for Nya, he introduces her to Turghan, chieftain of the Toughai, as a people from the Sea of Ogada.
Later, when Moughal and SG-1 meet Turghan to retreive back Carter, Moughal says that women in the Sea of Ogada are free like theirs were long ago.
